Claire Redfield

Claire Redfield is the younger sister of S.T.A.R.S Operative, Chris Redfield. Claire makes her debut in Resident Evil 2 accompanied by Leon S. Kennedy. She then appears as the main protagonist in Resident Evil: Codename Veronica. She also appears in the computer generated movie, Resident Evil: Degeneration.

Claire Redfield may be one of the only characters I know who has no professional training in combat; nevertheless she still manages to pull off some killer combat skills when battling enemies.

Resident Evil 2

Claire comes to Raccoon City a day after the T-Virus outbreak in order to find her brother Chris; who was missing since the Special Tactics and Rescue Service were suspended after they claimed the Umbrella Corporation was creating bio-weapons in an abandoned estate outside of the city.

Claire first starts off her journey at a diner her brother frequently visits. It didn't take too long before Claire runs into one of the living dead. Claire flees to the back door and is rescued by Leon S. Kennedy. In order to get away from the flock of dead citizens, Leon and Claire hops into an abandoned patrol car. Unfortunately the abandoned patrol car wasn't abandoned at all. The zombified officer appears in the backseat and attacks Leon, causing the car to crash. At this time Claire and Leon has to separate ways, planning to meet up again.

Claire heads to police station where she is pursued by a huge Bio-Organic weapon called Mr. X (also known as T-103). Mr. X is defeated a number of times by Claire, but as you would have it, he regenerates over time and continues to pursue Claire and Leon. Claire runs into Mr. X a number of times (you normally encounters enemies more than once in the Resident Evil games).

As time goes on Claire rencounters the police chief Brian Irons. He believes Claire was hired by Umbrella to assassinate him. Irons is attacked by a G-Virus infected William Birkin before he is able to kill Claire. Claire escapes into the sewer network with young Sherry Birkin. As fate would have it, Claire has to face William Birkin in the sewers. Due to the weakest point within Birkin's G-Mutations, Claire triumphs with ease.

Sherry is sucked into a sewer drain where William Birkin implants a G-Virus embryo inside his unconscious daughter. Claire does everything in her power to find Sherry and eventually runs into Sherry's mother Annette Birkin, who had fallen over a railing after fighting with Ada Wong. Annette is convinced that everyone is out to get her and her husband's lives work, so she does not believe Claire when she asks to help her find Sherry.

Claire finally finds Sherry but realizes she has been infected. Annette finally believes Claire and is killed by her mutated husband who no longer recognizes her. Annette's final objective is to give Claire the cure Sherry needs. Claire has a number of encounters with a mutated William Birkin until she defeats him (at least that is what she believes at the time).

Claire climbs aboard a train and starts the engine. Leon shows up and stumbles into one of the compartment doors. Just when they think they're in the clear, the final mutation of William Birkin appears and set off a bio-hazard alarm on the train. They're unable to defeat him due to the regenerative properties of the G-Virus. Claire flees along with Leon and Sherry, but not before activating the self destruction mechanism on the train. After escaping danger Claire vows to find her brother.

Resident Evil: Code Veronica

Claire travels to the headquarters of the Umbrella Corporation and leads a one woman assault on the corporations. Claire is ultimately capture and sent to Rockfort Island before it is attacked y the Agency causing another T-Virus outbreak.

Claire meets < a href="steveburnside.html">Steve Burnside, who is looking for his father who works on the island. Claire calls for help using the internet. She sends a message to Leon Kennedy who relays the message to Chris Redfield (her brother). Claire helps Steve in his pursuit to find his father, who they eventually comes across. Steve's father has been transformed into one of the living dead due to the T-Virus outbreak. Steve kills his father and has an immediate break-down.

Throughout the game Claire tries with all her might to escape the island but is hindered by the insane Umbrella Corporation executive put in charge of the island, Alfred Ashford.

At a certain point in the game Claire is confronted by Albert Wesker. It is revealed that Wesker lead the assault on Rockfort that released the T-Virus. With Wesker's strong hatred for Claire's brother Chris, he decides to dispose of Claire. Luckily for Claire he is called away before he can complete his objective.

Claire and Steve board an automated flight to Antarctica, in order to escape Alfred Ashford, Albert Wesker, and the self destruction sequence. By doing this they enter another zombie filled nightmare. They retreat to the Umbrella Facility and quickly discover that Alfred has followed them. Claire and Steve defeats him but are then captured by Alexia Ashford (Albert Ashford's sister).

Chris Redfield arrives in Antarctica chasing after his former S.T.A.R.S captain (Albert Wesker). He rescues Claire but Steve is infected with Alexia's T-Veronica Virus by protecting Claire from one of Alexia's mutant creations. Steve dies in front of both Claire and Chris.

During Claire and Chris's escape, they stumble upon a heat battle between Alexia and Wesker. Wesker leaves upon the siblings arrival, but not before telling Chris killing Alexia is an "order." Chris defeats Alexia and Wesker captures Claire. Chris persues Wesker and the old comrades battle each other. Due to Wesker's in humane abilities Chris has to rely on his brain rather than his physical combat abilities.

Chris outsmarts Wesker by dropping several tons of steel on him. As fate would once again have it, Wesker appears with little damage but leaves with Steve's body, which he can extract a sample of the T-Veronica Virus. With that Claire and Chris are able to escape.
